The best way to kill moths, besides blowing them up with a campfire stove like our pyro cook, Mirek, is to stick a bowl of soapy water under a light so that they fall in an drown. Light draws in moths like a magnet. Their devotion is tireless, relentless; they crawl over one another to get closer to its presence. They cling from outside to the windows, longing for any ray of light that slips out from behind the curtains.
I have to admit it, I wish I were more like moths. It seems like their only goal is to find the light and they'll stop at nothing to be near it. I want my heart for the Lord to be like that. I want to tirelessly search out his heart and long with every fiber of my being to be in his presence. The satisfaction that Jesus gives is sooo fulfilling, I hope I look more and more like a moth as a learn to really believe that.
When I think of moths, I think of all that dust they carry around on their wings. I guess we can say "Pardon my dust" as we seek the light.
