As I’ve worked alongside Toni I have learned something about working hard. There is real relational benefit to putting my best effort into how I spend time on the clock. When the people I am working with can see that I am completely invested in my work then they feel better about working with me. Being the first one to jump on a hard job is communicating to them “Oh I’ll do that, so you don’t have to do it.” If I slack off or go straight for the easy jobs it communicates to my co-workers that I don’t really care about them. It says that I would rather just let them take on the rougher jobs so I can skate by.
Working hard is a service to those around me, and when I do my best I encourage those around me to do their best too.
Allie - One of the things I always think about is the way you put 110% into last summer. You always went above and beyond with my girls. You never viewed babysitting as "Let's get this day over with and do as little as possible." You embraced every moment and gave my girls a summer they will never forget. We will remain forever grateful for the woman God created you to be. You have the heart of our Lord - the heart of a servant. And we love you!
