Rethinking our Storybook Villains

There is something I find quite darling about foxes.

Most of the time they appear in literature as sneaky, devious characters, but I think behind their crafty veneer they are actually very family oriented.

Foxes are providers; they are really only trying to take care of one another.

I am in love with homey illustrations of foxes.

I think we would all ease up on the whole smooth-talking/chicken-stealing/thief stereotype if we considered a fox's motivation.

Now who wouldn't steal a chicken for that little face?

On another note, Nickel Creek is awesome.
